Exclusive Interview: 16-Year-Old Richard Zheng Starts Initiative, Funds 6 Artists for NFT NYC Debut

New York City ― Founded by the young visionary Richard Zheng, UNHRD has become a beacon of innovation, championing artists on a global scale. The company’s latest venture involves flying out six talented artists to NFT NYC, offering them a platform to showcase their work and network with industry leaders. This effort is supported by notable sponsors such as Transient Labs, Makersplace, and prominent individual sponsor GMONEY. The initiative is also in partnerships with Forbes Web3, HUG, NFT ASIA, and Art on Internet (AOI).

The winners of UNHRD’s initiative are Blakeney Sanford, Jæn, Eri Harigai, Luke Gr1ndhouse, Su Postill, and Miss Daisy.

Richard sat down with True Stars during his break from an advising session in his high school library to talk about his passion for philanthropy and empowering artists, admitting that in addition to being a founder, he is also in the midst of preparing for college.

At only 16 years old, Richard has achieved remarkable success in photography, social media, and web3, surpassing many seasoned professionals. Despite his youth, he’s earned a strong reputation, collaborating with Fortune 500 brands. A trailblazer in the web3 space since age 13, he launched UNHRD, blending his varied interests. Despite high school commitments, he dedicates substantial time to UNHRD, even handling tasks and taking calls during school hours in the bathroom.

Having garnered respect from the likes of GMONEY, a leading figure in the Web3 and NFT space, and Founder of 9dcc, remarked that he was, “Bullish on people who take conference calls from their high school bathroom.”

Revolutionizing Philanthropy with Blockchain Initiatives

When asked what inspired him to pursue philanthropy, Richard explained he interned in the grant industry for the state of California and was able to have first-hand experience in how that works. “It was mostly because of my uncle,” Richard said. “He works in the grant industry.”

UNHRD is revolutionizing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by offering companies a transparent and efficient blockchain platform. This innovative approach ensures accountability and trust by recording all transactions and contributions on an immutable ledger. By leveraging blockchain technology, UNHRD reduces administrative costs, enabling more funds to directly benefit causes rather than middle-men. This streamlined process enhances the impact of CSR efforts, simplifies compliance and reporting, and provides real-time insights into fund allocation and outcomes achieved.

Harry Lai, the COO of UNHRD, says, “With our platform, companies can now manage their social impact initiatives with unprecedented trust and accountability. Together, we’re turning CSR into a catalyst for meaningful change, breaking down barriers, and empowering companies to make a real difference in the world.”

UNHRD Launches Artist Initiative, Supporting Artists Through Grants

UNHRD’s artist initiative aims to support creatives globally through grants and fostering resource-rich environments for artistic pursuits. They have partnered with HUG, an artist curation platform to help with the open call and curation. Regarding the curation process Richard said, “We wanted everyone to have an equal playing field. Let’s dictate it mostly off of the art. But at the same time we wanted to make sure we were being inclusive.”

The event in New York, planned for April 5th, marks a significant milestone in UNHRD’s journey. This Open Call for artists not only provides a unique opportunity for emerging talents but also sets a new precedent in artist support and engagement.

Zheng comments, “I’m excited to be able to use technology to empower under-represented artists. After all, I joined this space as a photographer trying to make my dreams come true.”

Aside from sponsoring six artists to attend NFT NYC, UNHRD is set to debut an NFT drop featuring these artists, along with the release of their own membership pass scheduled for April 5th. Collaborating with Transient Labs, a platform specializing in web3 projects, UNHRD aims to utilize custom smart contract technology for the drop. Proceeds generated will be directed to the UNHRD Grant Fund, facilitating quarterly distribution of grants to emerging artists.
